3rd IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Systems (IEEE IS’06)

Special Session in Data Mining

CALL FOR PAPERS

Conference Website: http://ieeeis06.wmin.ac.uk/

Contact: ieeeis06@wmin.ac.uk

The continuous collection and accumulation, of large amount of digital or online data have significantly reduced human’s ability to comprehend and analyse. Hence, data mining, or knowledge discovery from databases is proposed to extract useful information (knowledge) from large datasets or online datasets. The development and application of new data mining techniques and tools have been attracting a significant amount of research attention. Advances in data mining research and technology have made it possible to solve many interesting problems in many application areas, including marketing, health, genes and so on. The special session in data mining of IEEE IS’06 aims at providing an international forum for the experts in the world to share their new ideas and original research results on data mining.
We invite authors to submit original and high quality papers addressing all aspects of data mining, including but not limited to the following:

Data Mining Foundations

  • Effective machine learning
  • Statistical methods
  • Case-based reasoning approaches
  • Classification
  • Clustering
  • Feature selection, and feature transformation
  • Association rules
  • Data and knowledge visualization
  • Evaluation and interpretation of data mining results
  • Post processing and pre processing
  • Knowledge management
  • Integration of data warehousing, OLAP and data mining
  • Parallel and distributed data mining
  • Interactive and online mining
  • Data mining challenges

Data Mining Applications

  • High dimensional data mining
  • Temporal data mining
  • Spatial data mining
  • Multimedia and video data mining
  • Stream data mining
  • Biomedical data and DNA sequencing
  • Medical and healthcare data mining
  • Semi-structured/unstructured data mining
  • E-commerce and Web services
  • Security and intrusion detection
  • Financial market analysis
  • Online monitoring
  • Mining trends, opportunities or risks
  • Graph and subgraph discovery
  • Software Warehouse and Software Mining

We encourage papers that describe case studies based on large databases. The paper should be in English and contain unpublished contributions to the data mining fields.

Papers should be emailed to: liupeng@mail.shufe.edu.cn
